My students are 5th graders getting ready to move to the next level....middle school! This is a big transition for them. Now they are in a K-5 public elementary school with one to two teachers. Next year they will be moving from class to class, having 5 or more teachers. I have a very diverse class with varying academic abilities. My class consists of 20 students. Four students are below grade level, 6 students above and the rest are on grade level. I have one student that goes to speech classes and 2 that have just been exited from our ESOL program and are still being monitored. I teach all subject areas to the same students except for 6 that leave for 2 hours for math and science. I have very good artists in my class this year that enjoy illustrating books.
