Children with speech and language difficulties very often struggle with literacy skills. My intention is to build a library that includes books that they will see in their classrooms so that I can frontload vocabulary, preview story structure, and introduce question types that they may encounter in class discussions. My hope is that my students will feel more confident in their ability to participate in book discussions, and that they will feel successful. I have also included stories about kids who look like the children I serve, because representation matters.
