It is important to have a diverse classroom library to support students in finding books that they can relate to and can expand their perception of different cultures. It will also encourage my reluctant readers to find a love of books if they can see themselves represented in the literature. In addition, diverse books teach compassion, empathy, and acceptance. My hope for this year is to update my classroom library with interesting diverse books. Please support my project of providing my students with books they can read and enjoy every day.
