I teach Woodshop to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Lihue, Hawaii. My class is a Career and Technology Education class and In my class these students transform from passive learners into active creators. For many of them, this is the one period a day where they can step away from a screen and build something with their own two hands. They are learning more than just woodworking; they are learning patience, problem-solving, and the value of craftsmanship.
