Each year a list of 20 books are chosen for the Texas Bluebonnet list. They are diverse books across multiple genres that students love reading! After reading the books, students across Texas vote on their favorite book in hopes of it winning the Texas Bluebonnet Award. Many books are used for classroom read alouds to engage students in reading and spark class discussion. Reading them aloud gives students of all reading levels the opportunity to enjoy the books and participate in the voting. Having these books available in the classroom library allows the students read on their own and often the excitement about each books spreads throughout the class. This is something students look forward to every year!

About my class
