Hello! My name is Carrie Haduch and I am a 6th/7th grade special education teacher. I co-teach all day with a general education math teacher. We are both National Board Certified Teachers and have chosen to loop with our students because we believe they missed out on so much during remote instruction. We teach 25 kids in a classroom with almost all students having either an IEP or other unique learning needs. all of our students are visual learners. This year we purchased many small items that connect to our computers to help us give students visual examples online. For the upcoming year, we will have all of our Math classes as blocks and we plan to run station rotations daily to be able to remediate skills lost and rectify learning gaps. With that being said, the students would benefit if we could deliver the lessons from the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. We would like to have two since there are two teachers delivering instruction at all times during class each at our own stations. I will run differentiated instruction at my station while the general education teacher will deliver core instruction using the district curriculum. The math curriculum that we teach has an online component so this transition could be seamless. This will give us the ability to demonstrate the math step by step and also allow the students to have an interactive option during the rotation. We chose the Surface Pro because of its ability to work as both a laptop and a tablet. Also, the function of the pen is which students and teachers can write/draw to show their thought process. In addition, after spending a year at home or hybrid, students will benefit from the interactive abilities of the Microsoft Surface Pro 7.
