As the school nurse, I help provide a healthy and safe environment for our students to learn. Our school entrances need some attention. We need new doormats! We want to trap as much pollen, rainwater, dirt, and mud as possible at all the entrances to our school. New doormats will help both reduce the number of allergens brought inside and also help prevent falls. Allergies in Austin, Texas affect a huge number of children. Students miss many school days due to symptoms of seasonal allergies. We don't have many falls at the entrances but we also want to keep it that way.
