The Super Tomcats robotics teams at my school need new robots to keep learning, building, and competing. Our team is made up of 16 hard-working fourth and fifth graders who are deeply committed to learning and to one another. They meet after school two nights a week throughout the entire school year. Their time is spent learning to build and code Lego robots to complete missions and to research and create solutions for real-world problems. Our team members learn a great deal about math, science, and technology, but they learn far more about problem solving, working collaboratively, and interacting with the public; skills that will last a lifetime. However, our robots have become outdated and are beginning to fail. Two new Spike Prime Robots and an expansion set will allow us to be prepared for tournament next November and moving on through many other events and into the coming years.
