With the book Touching Spirit Bear, our class will be doing a book study while using Literature Circles. This gripping novel encounters Native American culture, social emotional learning, real life challenges and interactions, character development and symbolism. Literature Circles will allow the students to dig deep into their reading and find a wealth of text-to-self connections. This is a win-win situation for both students and teacher. The book study allows the students to integrate all 4 core subjects in various extension projects before, during and after reading this character building novel.
