These books will help me expand my classroom library so that students have high interest, engaging novels to choose from during our daily independent reading time. I have ensured that these books are not only age appropriate but that they also reflect the diversity of our school population as well as students' interests and reading preferences. As a middle school English teacher, I present reading as an enjoyable activity by creating a comfortable reading environment in my classroom and by showcasing new books to my students each Friday. I offer new books to students on a first-come, first-serve basis, and I always have students racing to my classroom as soon as the bell rings on Friday afternoons so that they are the first to pick up a coveted new novel. I am so excited to add these new books to my shelves. They will be treated with care, and I know that my students will very much appreciate them!
