I think art is the perfect way to help the students express their emotions in a positive way. The classes are going to learn about the elements of art and the principles of design. With charcoal, they are going to learn about perspective and compositions. Understand how to use value and texture. I believe learning how to draw with charcoal will help them understand how to control other mediums. With watercolors, they are going to drawing from real life. Mostly still life. We will incorporate pen and ink as well.
