I work at an alternative school with at risk youth. I am attempting to start a ceramics program from scratch with this proposal for molds, glaze, tools and other materials. This is an expensive process which must be undertaken in stages. I will be teaching students using the Minnesota state Fine Arts Standards. Students will learn: scoring and slipping/ pinch pots/handbuilt, coils, slabs, various glaze techniques, texture, form, color theory, the potter's Wheel and a multitude of endless techniques and concepts in this wonderful art form! This and many more projects will be supported by your donations. Students will learn the different states of clay and how a kiln works. Students will be exposed to several historic types of ceramics including Native American art. I have a passion for teaching ceramics please provide me with the opportunity to pass it on to a younger generation.
