For my students, we are continuously working affective skills that help us navigate our social world. Some of the books that were chosen for this project are books that are used to engage students in an exciting way to learn about those social skills. We are constantly learning about growth mindset, choosing kindness and as well as strategies to help us manage our emotions. Through these social books, my students also learn strategies to help them navigate a classroom setting. The flexible seating chosen in the project will allow my students to find their learning comfort zone. Not all students can sit in a chair and pay attention during a small group lesson. By having a rug area or flexible seating my students can choose where they think they might learn best. If they are feeling wiggle, they many choose the round floor cushions that can be moved around the room. The large rug space will give students the opportunity to feel include in a large group setting while having space between each other.
