Learning something new can be daunting. Students feel at ease when they know they have the right materials to help them. In 2nd grade, we learn how to navigate through the classroom getting what we need to complete our work, and knowing what will help us be successful. By being organized, students have the power to access supplies and materials that will support their learning. My students will benefit from these organizational tools for storing their individual supplies and workbooks in magazine bins, as well as community supplies in the hardware cabinet. Mailbox slots to store papers to file or take home, large clear plastic bins for their math workplace games, and the tools that they need with each game. When my students can access the right tools they need, they can use these tools for learning effectively! Sometimes, having the correct tools can alleviate the stress of solving a challenging problem. Let's give these young eager learners the best we can during these unprecedented times.
