Scholars need to move. Flexible seating allows them the opportunity to wobble, rock, and lean, which increases oxygen flow to the brain. As a result of flexible seating, students burn more calories and increase metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused. All students love to sit in special areas in the classroom. They can choose to sit on our carpet or bean bag chairs. Having this option enforces classroom management because kids work, academically and behaviorally, to have this special opportunity throughout the school day. Students can use this flexible seating while reading to each other, having writing conferences, and/or using it in our calming center.
