Many of our students do not have a sense of community in our school and we are using some art to connect students to their environment and to each other. Each student will have the opportunity to decorate a brick in our hallway, bringing students together for community and helping to create a sense of belonging as well as a sense of self for our students. Students will share artistic techniques as well as self reflection as they realize their individualized goals and recognize their individuality. Since we work with our students for all four years, this can be a project for seniors and juniors who will achieve their goals and graduate from LHS. With these supplies, our students will finally be able to take part in their environment, celebrate their successes, and share their individuality.
