When students feel comfortable at school and have the supplies they need, they are more likely to learn. Many students either do not have, forget, or cannot afford essential hygiene products such as deodorant, a toothbrush, and fresh mask. In addition, my students require specialized instruction that requires various supplies not typically supplied through our school. My vision for my classroom is to be a place where students can come not only for help with academics and social emotional skills, but also a place that feels like home. Having hygiene supplies that students can freely access in a place where they feel comfortable would mean the world. Another huge need that my students have are reusable water bottles. Students are not able to drink water from the water fountain, and are asked to bring their own water bottles to school. At this time, I supply students with small foam cups when they need water. Students would benefit from reusable water bottles that they can keep, rather than either 1) not drinking water all day, or 2)having to utilize small foam cups. Overall, when I feel comfortable, I am more apt to engage in learning and activities. This goes the same for our kids!
