I work in a co-teacher setting working with special needs students and those that struggle in the areas of reading and math. The students that I am trying to reach for this upcoming year are already behind the eight ball, unfortunately. The foundation of reading is phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension. These books will be the building blocks to literacy and growth. These books will give me the opportunity to feed into the minds of these young students. It could allow me to show them how to travel to different cities and countries without leaving their homes, stretching their imagination beyond the pages of a book. One other thing that will help my students is the book of mindfulness. Often they feel isolated and alone. We work on SEL (social emotional learning) and it helps all the students in the class understand that it is okay to be different. I thank you in advance for whatever you can do to help make this happen for my students.
