Students learn by working on activities that enable them to use all their senses. We want students to to learn math skills using math manipulatives. The math manipulatives will enable the students to work in collaborative groups to help each other solve math problems using problem solving skills. During reading we want students to read aloud using microphones and speakers so they can improve their reading fluency skills. I selected the book Hidden Figures to teach students how African American women contributed with science and math skills to the process of sending astronauts to space. Students learn critical reading skills by reading aloud to each other in a whole group setting.

About my class
