Authentic literacy is so important to our students' education. We are in need of solid books that will enhance our students learning. Island of the Blue Dolphins and Esperanza Rising are excellent books. A class set will allow our students to read together and discuss the main idea of the book. Additionally, we are out of calculators that assist our SPED with their math skills! Our students push into general education math classes; however, when they test in separate setting, they do not have calculators to help accomodate their assessment.
