I am starting a new reading program called "Rooted In Reading". These books were chosen specifically because they have diverse characters. Children need books with characters of all ethnicities and backgrounds. I love this program because it does that. My team has seen great growth in the first graders literacy skills by using this program. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students' faces light up when they get new books and get to hear new stories. Kids truly love read aloud time and sometimes are only give the opportunity in school. It's an even better feeling to see my students get excited when their culture represented in a read aloud. We would greatly appreciate having these books in our class. I would appreciate any donations to help our little learners have access to new and improved supplies. Thank you!
