Research has shown that game playing helps with mastery of skills and knowledge. Science and social studies are often an afterthought in elementary classes because of the time spent on reading, writing, math, and testing. These games will expose, reteach, and enrich the students to the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in middle school, high school, and life. At my school, we team teach, which means that one teacher teaches science and math and one teacher teaches social studies and writing. The science game is described below as a "grade 5" game but it is actually 1st-6th and one game will go to each science teacher while the social studies teachers will get a grade-level game. The students who attend my school need time to learn to play and work together as well as mastering science and social studies. These games will ensure all students are successful.
