I often see that students struggle in taking effective notes and don't have basic study strategies to use. I want to create a binder that will specialize in teaching students to be organized, but also teach them how to take proper notes during lessons, and how to use those notes to help them study later. The binder will house their Cornell notes notebook, pocket dividers (1 per subject), along with other materials to help in the process. I will teach, through modeling, how to take effective Cornell notes and how to organize their binders to help them study and be successful. I will also include data charts for them to track their progress (scores) in Math and ELA throughout the school year so they can see how much they have grown. They will also set learning goals for themselves and monthy checks to see how they are doing. Post-its and highlighters are great resources for students to use while reading and taking notes during lessons and independent work!
