Being a new teacher, in a brand new school, these materials will allow me to put together a classroom library. Having this library will help my students improve and enhance their literacy skills as well as deepen their love of reading. Although these materials will primarily be used in the classroom, there will never be a time when students are told they cannot bring the books home to read. In fifth-grade students learn about the wars that were relevant to the history of the United States. The books I have asked for will not only enhance learning, they will allow students to read the same topic from different perspectives of those who were involved.

About my class
