I am starting fresh in a brand new classroom that does not have a lot of supplies. The essentials such as pencils, markers, crayons, and anchor chart paper will help us be able to use hands on supplies to learn and create. The area rug will be used during our morning circle and our afternoon community circle for students to sit around and feel apart of our classroom community. All students want to be able to come to school and feel like they are enjoying learning and not just here because they "have" to be. The tent will be used as a calming corner for individual students who feel like they need time to take a break and refocus themselves. I believe having a having a safe space in the classroom is essential to some students who need a little bit of extra help to find their balance and center themselves. Other items are for classroom management, such as the doorbell button and the windchime which will be used to grasp the attention of 25 little third graders. Lastly, the "teachers pay teachers" gift card is for a website that centers around sharing ideas and projects among teachers around the world. There are great resources on their that are made and designed for teachers, by other teachers!
