I work with special education students and would like to establish a classroom library of books of all levels that will interest each student and also be on the appropriate reading level for each student. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. Each student will be able to choose books that interest him or her. This project will help enrich their experiences with the printed word. With this opportunity and materials, my students will be able to read books that are the appropriate reading level without the judgement of their peers. Many of my students are reading below grade level and struggle with participating in the classroom.
