By the end of second grade, students need to become independent readers and writers. My goal is to have my students feel confident that they can write about their world and feel proud of it. I want them to read texts they love, and then convey a message to others. For this, we will use the writing journals to promote their creativity, demonstrating how beautiful it is to express themselves through literature. Exposing them to daily opportunities to create entries in these journals, will help my students practice writing and will help me assess their progress.
