In order to help build my student's literacy skills and background knowledge needed for comprehension, I am creating a reading corner in my classroom. I would like my students to feel comfortable and at ease when reading and /or listening to me read. I want to create an environment where there is a love for books and where students can learn from each other by reading and discussing various topics. Furthermore, I want my students to be able to spend a few minutes hanging out with their friends and reading side by side as a bonding exercise!
