In our reader's and writer's workshop, we tackle big ideas about our world using mentor texts as a tool to connect with ideas, people, and the world. We will be using these books for read aloud lessons, in book clubs, and as a part of our classroom library. Fourth grade is often called a big leap. This year, fourth graders will be learning and developing deeper analytical skills about not only literature, but who they are as readers and writers. Having the tools is such an important part of this. The stories in this collection are meant to open our eyes, hearts, and minds and they allow us to apply our burgeoning skills to powerful ideas. Our reader's and writer's workshop is meant to give our students a passion for reading and writing. With your help, we can grow a reader's and writer's workshop library that can connect with all of my students!
