Thank you so much for considering my project. I am planning on getting whiteboards and dry erase markers for my Geometry classroom and unfortunately we are in short supply at our school. The goal for this project is to assist my students in solving math problems by solving, rather than having them "click" on the answer choice using mouse.
This is the reason why, I noticed so many students are struggling this year since we were doing online instruction for the last 1.5 years. After receiving the materials, I am planning on more collaboration activities in the classroom where kids will work in pairs or in groups of 3-4 to solve Geometry problems. They can draw diagrams, solve questions on these white boards. This will enable them to try, make mistakes and learn.
This year all my students are in-person and I have 166 kids in all my classes. As we moved to in-person instruction this year, I decided to shift the student learning from computer screens to whiteboards and do more problem solving with hands rather than mouse clicks. The supplies that I am requesting will help my students to reach their educational goals much more effectively. My students use small whiteboards to practice problems in the class after my instruction. I am hoping to give a marker to each kid so that they don't need to buy it by themselves and still practice math in the classroom.
I sincerely appreciate your time and efforts in considering my project.
