We will be kicking off our summer reading program, Camp Read S'more, right before students get out for summer break. Our library program is encouraging students to read s'more this summer by completing the book-a-day for 35 days challenge. The bookmarks, pencils, stickers, and candy will be used to give to students that participate in our summer reading challenge. The bigger items selected - the scooter, remote control car, sky rockets, child's tent, and the different kits will be used as raffle prizes for students that complete the challenge. All items selected are intended to motivate and encourage students to read over the summer. If student's do not read during the summer, they can loose as much as a grade level in reading ability and be behind when school starts in the fall. By encouraging them to read, they will become better readers, learn new words to make them better writers, and make reading a good habit for life.
