Students will learn to problem solve and persevere through tasks using these exploratory materials. They will have the opportunity to take a STEM bin home, which will be used as a motivational reward system, as many of these resources are not readily available. These materials engage and motivate students. They promote creativity, either independently or to be used for family time together. STEM bins also reinforce using the scientific method and learning from failure. Many kids in this day and age may often give up easily and expect the answers. These activities are open ended and exploratory, so there is not just one right solution. The possibilities with these activities are endless. These materials and activities instill strong problem solving skills, teamwork, and foster thinking “outside of the box.”
