The students at my Title I school have faced hardship and trauma. As the behavioral health professional, with this project I will be able to conduct whole class lessons to teach and practice various skills and mindfulness tools for grades 2-5. I will also be doing small groups with kindergarteners and first graders using books and materials to share with them to help them build their coping skills. I am excited to share some of the trauma-informed, age-appropriate books with my students so they will know that their experiences are important and valid.
