This year my school opened up a brand new class. Most of the students in my class are nonverbal and have emotional disabilities, which make communicating in a healthy way very difficult for them. This has been the first alternate assessment class in our building since we opened up our doors 18 years ago. After 18 years of teaching, I too am learning that my students need more than a desk, books, and a pencil. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, and social interaction. The products that I have selected will help my students grow in all of these areas. My students and I truly thank you in advance!
