A reading center will provide a quiet and comfortable space for students to practice reading skills they have learned during reading groups as well as motivate them to read. Children who are motivated to read spend more time reading. Reading motivation has also been linked to the development of lifelong readers. Reading also has an impact across all content areas including math, science, social studies, and writing. A high quality reading center will have an impact on a child in all areas of learning; more than just reading. It is my goal to ensure all students become lifelong learners!
