I am hoping to get hard-cover blank books, a book binding machine, and spines for the books so my students can enjoy making their own books to add to our classroom library. As we all know, students retain more information when they research and put together their findings. Students get so excited that they get their entire family involved. A library is fun, but a student made library is more engaging for students, especially when they know students their age wrote and illustrated the books. I currently do this project once a year only, due to the cost. If I can get these items, we will be able to add all genres to our classroom library.
