All students should be able to hold a real book in their hands every day. To turn the crisp, brightly illustrated page of a book that transports them to another world. Research supports the idea that a well stocked classroom library should have at least 20 books for each student. Many of our classrooms have fewer than 50 books in total. These books will go into the classrooms of first and second grade teachers. Books are a critical component to developing life long readers. Our students need access to authentic literature that supports their instructional needs. Many of our students do not have books at home so it is critical that the school stand in the gap for these children and give them access to as much literature as we can.
