"Music belongs to everyone and is, with a little effort, available to everyone." These words by Zoltan Kodaly ring true everyday in my music class. We have a limited supply of instruments in our classroom, most of which lack melodic capabilities. If we were to expand our instrumentation, my students would have access to a vast range of musicality. These ukuleles will give my students a skill they could pass on across generations. My students will have the opportunity to learn an instrument that can easily be used to play along with most songs they already enjoy. With the ukulele being incredibly student-friendly, the kids could even teach their family members how to play the instrument and create cherished memories together.
