Students were unable to gather at the carpet last year so I didn't see the need for purchasing one for my classroom. Especially since half of my students were at home. This year our district is 100% in person. The classroom floor is a hard linoleum tile floor. With this rug I can provide students with a spot to come to for "carpet time" where we will have read alouds, number talks, and an area for station time. This will be the center of much fun and learning for my students.
