After spending a year at home doing online learning, I want to give them a Life Skills project they will never forget. The materials and supplies I have requested are for my students to have firsthand opportunities to learn valuable cooking skills. Before we get into the kitchen, they will learn kitchen safety techniques such as how to put out a fire, what to do if they cut themselves, and how to treat burns and scalds. After kitchen safety, we will focus on recipe reading, cutting safety, and of course, cooking our favorite meals. When our cooking unit is complete, the students will have the knowledge to approach recipes and most of all, their kitchens with confidence!
