My students radiate a love of books and would greatly benefit from a more comprehensive selection of texts in the classroom. These texts are categorized on level and will allow for more student choice during independent reading. Providing students with access to quality on level texts to read on their own will build confidence in the growing reader. I have a variety of needs in my classroom, and I want to make sure that no matter the student's background, resources, or level of academic achievement I give them the best opportunity I can to fall in love with great books that are appropriate and encouraging for them. Giving my students access to a larger selection of books on their independent reading level will engage them and deepen their understanding of a variety of texts, in addition to helping me achieve my ultimate goal of encouraging them to love to read!
