A canopy tent will provide a classroom "sensory space" to provide calming input when a scholar becomes overloaded. Sensory toys/fidgets will provide scholars with much needed sensory integration activities. By using sensory integrated toys, scholars may be more likely to tolerate varied sensory input. Scholars needs visual aids and special curriculums like the Autism Helper Curriculum,, to achieve academic, functional and life skills. Teachers Pay Teachers have many resources that are made specifically for students with Autism. I will use the gift cards to purchase resources from Teachers Pay Teachers. My scholars not only need help with sensory, but also with communication through visuals and social stories resources that can be purchased through Teachers Pay Teachers. This project is important because all scholars are important and can learn! Some scholars just need extra supports of visual aids, modified curriculum, and sensory experiences to help them learn, be calm, and focused. If my project is funded, my scholars will be able to stay calm during the school day and be able to focus on learning academics through modified curriculum!
