Traditionally, most students are raised with the aspiration of entering law enforcement or teaching professions because these occupations make up the major of what they are exposed to. This trend is especially prevalent in my community being that we are a border town in South Texas. To combat this dilemma, for the past year, we have provided the opportunity for our students to learn the ins and outs of Journalism, Broadcasting, and Videography. The donation to PUMA Productions will allow our students to fully emerge themselves with the equipment needed for a more in-depth experience as a journalist, broadcaster, and/or videographer. In spite of the pandemic, our students eagerly engaged in the school newscast, and they worked diligently to produce segments to inform their peers about school and community events.
