The students will learn about proper research protocols, water qualty, and purity of drinking and non-drinking water in our city and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on activity where they get to be scientists to fully investigate water quality in their hometown and do an epidemiological search on how the water quality is in our parts of the city and cities surrounding the Rio Grande. My students will test for various pathogens, elements, and chemicals to formulate an analysis and conclusion that will help bring awareness to our city and state. Moreover, students will actively be involved in research and in making an impact.
