Almost all of my students will benefit from the materials chosen. Understanding fractions is hard! Having visuals, and fractions that can move around and will support each student in extremely different ways.
Money is a great way to teach decimals, and introduces real-life situations! I am shocked that most classrooms don't have play money in classrooms. The set chosen will help most students connect past, and future experiences that include the concept of decimals.
"What do you love about school?" Recess. Lunch. P.E.. Why not reading?! It is amazing to me how engaged students get when there is a a more interesting approach in teaching reading. The ELA cards will be super helpful for reinforcement, and could even be used for games! And even book bins have helped support the organization in the classroom, but has also given students a place where they can feel they own that book for as long as they need to.
This is my first time trying Donors Choose, I have high hopes for success!
Thank you!
