Every 9 weeks we provide students a variety of books to read from, from our classroom library. We usually provide students with 4-6 options each 9 weeks to read that we can discuss with them, do projects on, research information if the novel lends itself to that, etc. As the years go on, our novels get way more worn and torn causing us the need to replenish them, but we rarely have the budget to replenish the books we need. Students love being able to discuss a book they have read with others, even our struggling readers because they see someone else is reading the same book as them and may be having the same struggles they are some of the ideas in the book.
