Students will create their own catapult in the classroom. This activity helps my students have a hands-on approach to learning the attributes of quadratics. They have to calculate the total distance of the object. They also have to calculate the highest point (the vertex) among other things. The students need and deserve a fun activity after their state tests. This is a wonderful learning opportunity as well as allows them to use their individuality and creativity to build something. In the past my students have enjoyed this incredibly fun activity.
