This project will provide a wide variety of seating options for my students. I am already flexible in WHERE my students choose to sit in my classroom, now I want to be flexible in HOW they choose to sit in my classroom. But I need the materials/seating in order to be this way. It is so hard for young kids to sit still in a hard chair most of the day, and what better way to learn than to be wiggly?! We always emphasize in giving students choice in their learning, I want to give them choice in their comfort as well! Every morning, each student will get to choose a seat of their choice for the day. This will allow them to explore all seating options or stick to what they know they like. I believe that providing all of these options rather than only the hard, blue chairs will make my classroom even more "cozy" and feel more "at home" than is used to. I am looking forward to the transformation my classroom can have thanks to this great project!
