We do a lot of supplemental math work online (either using Khan Academy or MathSpace). Having tablets that let the students draw on their screen easier will facilitate their ability to engage the material better and, thus, get more out of the online assignments. They currently attempt to draw on the screen using the touchpad on their Chromebooks and it is cumbersome and not effective. Once the tablets are purchased, they can be used in my class or by other teachers at my school (I can see the art teacher also enjoying using these).
