These regulation items will immensely benefit my students. Currently, in our school, there is no comfortable space for students to come to calm down or take a break. These items were carefully chosen with student input to create an environment to benefit all of our students with a multitude of tools and resources. All students deserve an area with tools and resources to deescalate and come back to neutral. The bean bag will allow students a comfortable and safe space to sit and rest while the fidgets and drawing items will give them the ability to reset their minds and body. By using students' voices, the most impactful items were chosen based on their feedback. The football is actually a requested item from a student based on a previous teacher's calm down area and what helped him the most. The drawing items were also a direct request of a student based on what helps them the most when they are angry or frustrated. The Hoberman Sphere is a great tool used for deep breathing.
